# Manage authorized apps

You can authorize external apps or services to connect to Redox on your behalf. These apps have access to your Redox user account without needing or storing your login credentials. One example of an authorized external app is the Redox MCP server. [Learn how to access our MCP server](/how-to-use-redox/access-the-redox-mcp-server).

These apps represent authorized access for one individual user, not access on behalf of all users within the Redox organization.

## View authorized apps

1. Log in to the dashboard.
2. Click **your username** at the bottom of the navigation menu.
3. From the user menu, select the **User settings** option**.**
4. By default, the User info tab opens. Click the **Authorized apps** tab.
5. A list of existing apps you've authorized displays. Click on any individual **app** to open its Details page.
6. Review the app details, including when it was authorized. The permissions table shows any read or write permissions you granted to the app within the Redox organization and any environments.

> **Permissions with potential PHI**
>
> A May include patient data badge appears next to any permission that might include PHI.

7. To remove an app's access, click the **Revoke** button.

## Authenticate or edit authorize apps

You can authenticate new apps or edit authorized apps within the AI client directly. [Learn how to authorize](/how-to-use-redox/access-the-redox-mcp-server) your chosen AI client via Redox MCP.

To edit permissions after authorizing, open the Redox connector and manage in the AI client.
